| News from Kilmer Middle School PTA |
► The October PTA meeting was well-attended, and the highlight was an orientation for parents to the admission process at TJHSST given by TJ's Admissions Director, Ms. Judith Howard. The handout she used can be downloaded here. Please remember that TJ's open house is on Saturday, October 10th from 8:30-11:30. Please note that we also need volunteers from the 7th grade parents to help coach aftershool clubs next year (especially the Robotics Club!).
► In a recent note to the school, Principal Douglas Tyson said... "There are at least 25 former Kilmer Middle School students who were recently informed that they are National Merit Semifinalists. Congratulations to them and all the fine teachers, particularly those at Kilmer Middle School, who have guided their learning." A complete list of the students is here.
► The September PTA meeting was a great success, and was very well attended. We heard from Principal Tyson and his staff, as well as the PTA leadership. The next meeting is Oct. 7th, at 10am in the Group Instruction Room. The guest speaker will be the Admissions Coordinator for Thomas Jefferson School for Science and Technology.

And don't forget to register your Giant card for this year to Kilmer Middle School - last year the school got over $2,500 in free money!

The store is open everyday during lunch (10:10 - 12:30) for the first two weeks of school, and then is open M/W/F starting the week of September 21. You are providing a great service to the students and you have an opportunity to observe what goes on during your child's day! :) Please see the volunteer page or signup directly here.
► There are now two paper forms you can view or download and print. The first is the One-Stop Form to Join the PTA, Volunteer, Donate, and Advertise. You can get this form here. The second form is the Volunteer form, which you can get here. Both these forms are in Adobe PDF format, and if you need it, you can get the free Adobe Reader program here.
